A Short Intermission

Only four sleeps till pub day for which I great plans  –  watch this space, patiently please  –  but Fate had something else in mind. This week my beloved husband will be going to live in a nursing home so my time is divided between packing, weeping and giving myself pep talks.

Plan A had been to run away immediately the nursing home door bangs shut and seek solace (and alcohol) with friends. A more sensible Plan B is to power through and catch up on my very neglected work in progress. I think a couple of weeks of writing will enable me to enjoy Plan A all the better. So if I’m quiet for a while, you know why. I’ll be back.

Oh, and a nice review in the Daily Mail thank you very much, Wendy Holden.

Ack. Went through similar with my mother. Never easy. But that’s a good Plan A.

Always a little leap of excitement when you publish a new book. Your books are a delight bringing delight, relief, release and humour to your reader. I’m sorry I can’t offer you the same comfort as you deal with this change in your life. I send you love and positive thoughts for success and ease in both Plan A and Plan B.

Not an easy decision, Laurie, I know. You will be missing him, but possibly the man he was rather than the ill man he became. We all look forward to you getting down to work and to reading the results. Be happy.

Very hard decision for you to make. Plan A sounds good, think you need some me time. Love all your books, always look forward to a new one.

Ugh. So sorry. As my dear dad used to say ‘life is a series of comings and goings.’
